Tommy's Prayer

Since Tommy's cat scan in December, we have all been praying more for his health.

The other day I remembered that Jesus said, "I also tell you this: If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I am there among them". (Matthew 18:19, New Living Translation) It occured me that we could all gather in prayer for him even though we are apart in distance. He hears all prayers but prayers in unity seem to get special attention.

Our family is many more than the bare two He required. Also, it is easy for family to come into agreement when one has need.

So, I told Tommy what I was thinking and asked how he would like for us to pray. He said (1)right now he would like for us to pray that they can find the primary growth AND (2)that the growths in his liver do not grow. ommy said that he will let us know his prayer needs as he finds out more. The dr. said that sometimes this kind of growth lies dormant. We can pray for them to stay dormant and not cause him any trouble.

When you pray for him, please pray these two things acknowledging that we are praying in agreement. Of course, do not limit your prayers to these two things, pray every way that you will, just pray these in agreement with all of us.

Here's a song that comes to mind since we are standing on this promise from Matthew. If you will sing it a few times, you will find it comes back later to remind you to pray this way.

Standing on the Promises of God

Standing on the promises of Christ my King

Through eternal ages let His praises ring!

Glory in the highest I will shout and sing-

Standing on the promises of God

Chorus-

Standing, standing standing on the promises of God my Savior

Standing, standing, I am standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail

When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail;

By the living word of God I shall prevail

Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,

When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail;

By the living word of God I shall prevail

Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promise I cannot fall,

Listening every moment to the Spirit's call,

Resting in my Savior as my all in all -

Standing on the .promises of God.

I set this blog up so we can communicate. So if you have anything you want to add or say about the prayers, just do a comment.

Thank you Joyce and everyone for the prayers and the love.

Tuesday is still more blood test and a visit with the gastro guy.

Wednesday is the camera and, as Johnny put it, bullet proof vest.

Thanks for being there for us we love you. Frances and Tommy

Judy Clark said that she read about Standing on the Promises for Tommy. Later when she did her exercises, she caught herself singing Standing on the Promises for Tommy
