Upcoming Cousins Reunion

Hi Family!

Looks like it is going to be a good time together for the "Cousins". About 40 people have already responded that they can come, so we are looking forward to a wonderful fellowship.

This time, some of the Stafford cousins are coming; Jim and Kay Martin, Ronnie Stafford, and Greg and Donna Wood, and Lois is coming. Didn't we have a good time catching tadpoles at the Midway Church with them! And eating those cakes! If you can come and haven't let me know, just come on anyway.

Becky's Daddy

It looks like Mr. and Mrs. Blount are having a time. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 Cirrhosis of the liver and is feeling pretty bad. They did some blood work that should show if there is any pancreatic involvement but it hasn't come back yet. Becky says that he still gets up and dresses but has to lay back down some.

They have always been such precious people, I thought everyone would like to know. It seems like they were so kind to Mama and Daddy when they were sick. Remember that wonderful cake she brought Daddy? It was about the best I have ever tasted.

Pray for her to have strength to take care of him and for him not to suffer. Becky said that she will keep us up to date.

Also, this is my 5th week with Mono. I am ready to be up and around again.

There's a Lot Happening!

I hope you can all make it to the family reunion on April 4 at my house! Several have sent emails saying they couldn't make it but it looks like a good turn out. One thing you all need to know is that Jay's wife Meg lost her mother and father since Christmas. She is going to have to be with her brothers and sisters and they won't be able to be here. Pray for them, she sounded so hurt.

David is enjoying a number of opportunities, pray that he will make the right choice. We are so proud of him and want him to be where he can do best.

Sarah is due back from Spain on April 5, George and Becky will pick her up at the airport on the way home from the reunion.

Also, I don't know if I told everyone, but some of the apartments where Aunt Bobbie lives burned a couple of weeks ago. she is back in hers now, but needs a lot of support. Her phone number is 912-3251-9885 for anyone who would like to call her.

George and Becky at at the Blount's for a few days, trying to be sure that they have all the care they need. Mr. Blount is declining and Mrs. Blount is trying to take such good care of them. This is a hard time for everyone so remember them.

Barbara has gotten moved into her house. Will and Cannon are playing baseball. I think Jack is taking trumpet lessons and need to see him.

Meanwhile, it's a beautiful day down here at Beachside. Don't you wish you were here?!

A Lot is Happening

Hi Ya'll,

I thought you would like to know that Uncle Tommy goes for his shot next week. Also, he goes back to Tampa to the Moffett Clinic the first week in December for another CAT scan. Remember to keep praying that there is no growth in those tumors.

Christmas at Cathy and Tom's is set for Saturday, December 20. Plan to be there.

Then we are having the Charlie and Stella Anniversary at my house again on Saturday January 31.

For those of you who were coming to the Tybee Race, it is rescheduled for Saturday Feb 7.

The Lord has really blessed us this year, counting on many more!

Uncle Bill

Good morning,

When Bill got in to see the dr. last Friday, I didn't have time to let you all know that he was going to have a heart catheterization. He did have it on the same day. It was a good outcome though. The dr. said their was a small blockage at a branch of the artery where he already has two stents. He didn't do anything because it might cause more problems and the damage to heart muscles was small.

So he put Bill on two medications. One makes his heart beat stronger in this area and one causes his arteries to open more so more blood can flow. One of the side effects is that both lower blood pressure. Bill's was very low yester day and his heart rate was slow. These are things that should go away as his body adjusts to the meds.

Please keep Bill in your prayers so his body can utilize these medicines to the highest potential. Also, that the side effects will pass away.

I heard a lot of family are going to come to the Tybee Race this year. Won't that be a great time!?

Love to you all,
Joyce

Family Update

Hi ya'll,

Uncle Tommy needs your prayers today. It's the day for another shot. As you probably know, he has some nausea after some of the shots. Let's pray that this one will have no side effects and he will have a wonderful day today and tomorrow. Also, remember to pray that those tumors do not grow.

Our cousin in Jacksonville, Leslie Biggs has breast cancer. (She is Bill Kennedy's wife) Last Friday they did a lymphectomy and an lumpectomy but did not have to do a mastectomy at this point. She will being chemo soon that will last for a year. She also has to have radiation. She sure needs all of our prayers.

The good news is that God is bigger than cancer. The good news is that He promised that He would go with us everywhere we go. He is Lord in operating rooms, in chemotherapy rooms, everywhere we go. He is our peace and our hope. So we aren't just whistling Dixie when we pray to this wonderful God.

Family Information System

Cathy and I are in Falls Church where we are visiting Katie and Washington. Katie has been a great guide and is full of information. Today we went to Mount Vernon and had a wonderful time. We are going hom Monday.

George and his family spent last week in Sapphire Valley. He said everyone was there last weekend but all those with jobs had to go back Sunday. David's friend who is the poet laureat of Virginia passed away and he had to speak at the funeral today. I am sure he would appreciate a prayer about loosing his friend.

Barbara and Churck will finally be moving in a couple of weeks, their new house is nearly ready.

Will and Cannon are both playing in Jenkins Co. Recreation all star tournaments. Will's coaches are Craig and Bill. I don't know who is having more fun.

Tommy did well with the shot he had last week. He is going back to Tampa for a CAT scan this week so pray nothing has grown.

Jack played "When the Saints Go Marching In" at his piano recital.
